Hit with sales losses, plant closings, and staff cutbacks, it seems like the American automotive landscape is stuck under a dark cloud. Tired of all the bad media surrounding America's Big Three automakers, Consumer Guide went out in search of some good news.

Speaking to senior executives from Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, we asked each for "three reasons to feel good about your company."

In this Consumer Guide exclusive, we interviewed Mark Fields from Ford, Mark LaNeve from General Motors, and Chrysler's Jim Press to see if we could find a silver lining. Not only were these execs upbeat and optimistic about the future of the American automobile, each told us of big plans on the horizon like forthcoming alternative fuel products, segment-busting new vehicles, global partnerships, and fresh twists on old technology.

Check out what they had to say.
