Tom Appel: At $120,000, our drop-top 4S is not the best example of this breed, but it is still one fabulous vehicle. It is not hyperbole to call this car's steering magic, or its brakes perfect. Even the new "PDK" 7-speed automatic wields intoxicating charms, clicking off shifts with decisive quickness when driven aggressively. Yes, the new auto is clunky at low speeds, and key options are absurdly pricey, but take any 911 for a spirited drive and you, like me, will learn what it means to forgive.
Ed Piotrowski: More evolutionary than revolutionary, the freshened 2009 911 is still one of the most thrilling rides that doesn't bear an Italian brand. This Carrera 4S convertible wouldn't be my first choice in the lineup, though. The PDK automatic transmission is quite good, but 911s are best savored with the near-perfect manual gearbox. As such, make mine a black Carrera 4 coupe with that transmission with heated and cooled sport seats, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a rear wiper. That's all. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get daydreaming about that car...
Don Sikora: Sure it's expensive, but our 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was comfortable, well crafted, and offers more performance than the snowy roads I drove it on allowed me to fully, and safely, explore.

Consumer Guide's test 2009 Porsche 911 had a final price of $120,100.
