Established in 1952, this British car maker has strayed little from its initial mission, making small light-weight cars with an emphasis on handling. Also for-hire automotive engineering firm, Group Lotus is owned by Malaysian car builder Proton but continues to operate out of its Hethal, Norfolk headquarters.
