The redesigned E-Class should borrow styling cues from the Mercedes-Benz Fascination concept.

The Mercedes-Benz Fascination concept came to L.A. a month after its world debut at the Paris Show. Officially, the sleek, wagon-like 2-door coupe is just another styling study, but Mercedes admits it's also the literal face of the redesigned E-Class cars expected in the U.S. for model-year 2010.

The E-Class line will expand from sedans and wagons to include fixed-roof coupes and retractable-hardtop convertibles. It may also include a sporty Fascination-style "shooting brake," which sources say is under consideration. For more details on the next-gen E-Class, click here for our "Future Car" report.
