However, towing capacity is far lower; to get seven-passenger seating and heavy-duty towing numbers, Mercedes buyers would need to jump to the more-expensive GL320 BlueTEC (see entry).
We haven’t driven an R320 BlueTEC, but since its EPA ratings are identical to those of the ML320 BlueTEC, we’d expect to average about the same 22.2 mpg we got on a 2008 ML320 CDI.
