Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid
It seems economically counterintuitive to spend $10,000 to save five mpg, but this is all about your conscience, right?

A test Hybrid averaged 20.0 mpg, right at the EPA estimates. By contrast, regular Escalades have averaged about 15 mpg. But Cadillac recommends premium-grade fuel for them while the Hybrid takes regular, so that’s another $.01 per mile in your pocket.

At current fuel prices, that puts the break-even point for the Hybrid somewhere north of 166,000 miles, but after that, it’s all gravy.
