2009 Audi TT Roadster

performance TTS model. The front- or all-wheel-drive TT is available as a four-seat Coupe hatchback or two-seat Roadster convertible. The only convertible top offered is a power-folding cloth top with a heated-glass rear window.
Standard under the hood is Audi's ubiquitous turbocharged 200-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. All-wheel drive is available with the 250-horsepower 3.2-liter V6. Uplevel TTS models also use the 2.0T, but here it makes 265 horsepower. TTS-specific equipment includes 18-inch wheels, unique exterior styling, and special interior trim bits.
TT makes the list for its classic good looks and use of the sprightly 2.0T, which delivers spirited driving fun and decent fuel economy; one test TTS in our fleet averaged 26.0 mpg on premium fuel. Its sporty handling and composed highway presence, coupled with a posh standard leather interior, keep it on the list. One demerit is Audi's Multi Media Interface system, an overly complicated interface that controls most audio, climate, and navigation functions. Prices can also be steep. A base 2.0T starts at $35,200; TTS models top out at $47,500 before options.
