It’s hard to believe the PT Cruiser arrived back in 2000 as an early 2001 model. Nearly a decade has passed since its introduction, but the PT Cruiser hasn’t changed very much. Yes, it’s been given some updates, and even a convertible model has come and gone, but recently Chrysler’s retro-flavored wagon seems to have been overlooked by the company and the new-car-buying world. That’s a shame, since it’s fairly easy to argue the PT is still the best small car the company makes.
Chrysler must have reasons it didn’t pursue a next-generation PT Cruiser even before the current crisis hit, but the bottom line is that it won’t return for 2010.
