Consumer Guide Says Farewell to the Extended-Use Chrysler Town and Country

Editors' Notes

Our test van was full of comfort and convenience features like the innovative Swivel 'n Go seating package.
David Hogan: Our 2008 long-term T&C is my first exposure to a new Chrysler Corp minivan in about two years. Although I find the exterior styling more boxy than the more appealing swoopiness of c. 2002, this is a superior vehicle in most every way. I'm impressed by the obvious evolution of features, refinement, and functionality. As I've not had significant exposure to other, competing minivans, I can't make comparisons/contrasts, but it seems unlikely that any other similar vehicle is as practical, functional, and essentially car-like.
Don Sikora: There's a lot to like about the new Town & Country. Plenty of features to keep the kids entertained, and enough clever storage solutions to keep dad calm when loading up half the house for a road trip. The driver's seat is comfortable and the driving experience is quite good for something this big. My only gripe as a six-footer is that there could be more legroom in back, even in the second row.
Ed Piotrowski: Town & Country is one of the few vehicles that is tailor-made for the long road trip. Its combination of power, comfort, versatility, and family-friendly features make it tough to beat, even at $41,000-plus.
