2007 Infiniti G35
Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, took the wraps off an all-new G35 sedan at the 2006 New York Auto Show. The original G35 was introduced in 2003 and competes with the Acura TL, BMW 3-Series, and Cadillac CTS for enthusiast buyers shopping premium-midsize cars.

The new G35 sedan hits showrooms in November 2006; coupes follow in 2007. Compared to the outgoing model, the '07 G35 sedan is about five inches longer, though it rides an identical 112.2-inch wheelbase.

Five models will be offered: G35, G35 Journey, G35 Sport, G35 Sport 6MT, and G35x AWD. Powering all is a 3.5-liter v6 engine that, according to Infiniti, makes 300-plus horsepower. It mates to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic that sports steering-wheel mounted magnesium paddles for manual shifting.

Standard safety features on the '07 model include front, side, and side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, and stability control. Other new features include Infiniti's Intelligent Key with push button ignition, touch-screen navigation with rear-view monitor, and a premium sound system called "Infiniti Studio on Wheels" featuring Bose amplifiers and speakers.

Company officials were not willing to discuss pricing, but we'd expect Infiniti to hold the line on the new G35, meaning it should come in with a base price of less than $30,000. Like the previous G35, the new car will be built in Japan.
