Rondo just made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and Kia is already experimenting with new trim levels of the crossover-like midsize car. Kia pulled the wraps off of the sporty-looking Rondo SX Concept at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show; hoping to show consumers that functional vehicles don't always have to be boring.

Rondo SX rides on 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels and sports more aggressive-looking front and rear fascias, dual exhaust outlets, a metal-mesh grille, new brake cooling ducts, a larger and lower air intake, and darkened headlight rings. Its ride height is lowered 3-inches. Inside, Rondo SX is treated with an SX-specific black leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrasting red stitching, red and gray leather Alcantara seats with matching door trim, stainless steel sport pedals, and platinum interior accents. Underhood, Rondo's 2.7-liter V6 is tuned to make an additional 10 horsepower, topping out at 192-hp.

If Rondo SX makes it to production, it will join other SX-badged Kia vehicles like Rio and Spectra.
