Vehicle Highlights
The 2012 BMW X3 sees minor trim but otherwise no major changes following its model-year 2011 redesign. For 2011, two trim levels are offered. Each has BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive, a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level xDrive28i has 240 horsepower, and the uplevel xDrive35i is turbocharged and has 300 horsepower. Safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. 60/40 split-folding rear seat backs are standard with a 40/20/40 split optional. A power tailgate is optional. BMW's iDrive control interface is standard, as are power seats and keyless engine start. A navigation system and keyless access are optional. Also optional is an M Sport Package, which includes a sport all-wheel-drive system, unique steering wheel, sport bucket front seats, and specific trim.
