Vehicle Highlights

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen is largely unchanged. This 4-door wagon uses the same basic design as the 2006-2010 Volkswagen Jetta sedan; the sedan has been redesigned for 2011 (see separate report). Gasoline-powered S and SE models return, each powered by a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on the S. A 6-speed automatic is optional on that model and standard on the SE. Also offered is the diesel TDI. These Jettas get a 140-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which is emissions legal in all 50 states. TDIs offer the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual that behaves much like an automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, front-side airbags, and rear-side airbags. A navigation system, sunroof, and iPod adapter are included in a Premium Package available on the SE and TDI.
