Vehicle Highlights
The 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class may add a diesel engine option, but otherwise it will likely see few changes following its introduction for the 2010 model year. GLK is a 4-door wagon that shares its basic design with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class premium compact car, and should be available with rear-wheel drive, or the company's 4Matic all-wheel drive. The GLK350 trim level should return, and its engine will probably be a 268-hp 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. A diesel-powered version may be added to the lineup, possibly dubbed GLK250 BlueTEC. The diesel engine may be a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder with around 200 hp. Available safety features should include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags. GLK350s will probably have standard 19-inch wheels and tires, and 20-inch versions are likely to be included as part of an optional appearance package. Available features may include a navigation system that comes with a hard drive for storing digital music files, bi-xenon headlamps, and a panoramic sunroof. This evaluation is based on preview test drives of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350.
