The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class receives freshened styling. This premium large SUV is a stretched version of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class premium midsize SUV. Compared with the smaller M-Class, the GL-Class seats seven instead of five and has a higher towing capacity. Three models are offered. The GL350 BlueTEC has a 210-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The GL450 has a 335-hp 4.7-liter V8. The top-line GL550 has a 382-hp 5.5-liter V8. All use a 7-speed automatic transmission and have all-wheel drive without low-range gearing. Maximum towing capacity is 7500 lb. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front and 2nd-row side airbags, and curtain side airbags that cover all seating rows. Wood interior trim, heated front seats, and a power-folding 3rd-row seat are standard. Also standard on the GL550 and optional on other models are a navigation system and rearview camera.
