Vehicle Highlights
The 2010 Lotus Evora, which is the production moniker given to what had been code-named the 2010 Lotus Eagle, is set to debut in late-calendar 2009 as a mid-engine, four-seat, sport-luxury coupe. Lotus indicates the rear seat is suitable only for children or small adults, and that the car can be ordered without it; additional cargo area would take its place. The engine is a 276-hp 3.5-liter V6 sourced from Toyota. A 6-speed manual--also from Toyota--will be the sole transmission at launch. A 6-speed automatic with steering-wheel paddles shifters is due later in the model year. The Evora weighs just under 3000 lbs and rides on 18-inch front wheels and 19-inch rears. Available safety equipment includes ABS and an antiskid system. Other available features include leather upholstery, aluminum interior trim, and a navigation system. We have not yet tested the 2010 Lotus Evora.
