The 2010 Lincoln MKT is the latest addition to the portfolio of Ford's luxury brand. MKT is a midsize-crossover SUV that seats up to seven and shares elements of its basic design with the Ford Flex. Two models are offered. The Base comes with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It uses a 270-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine. The top-line EcoBoost model is AWD only and has a 355-hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. The sole transmission for both engines is a 6-speed automatic. Maximum towing capacity is 4500 lb. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, a power-tilt and -telescopic steering wheel, and power-adjustable pedals are standard. Also standard is Ford's Sync voice-activated control for cell phones and MP3 players, as well as a hard drive for storing 10 gigabytes worth of digital music files. An option package includes blind-spot alert, navigation system with voice control and real-time traffic alerts, and a panoramic sunroof. Other options include a power-folding 3rd-row seat, heated and cooled 2nd-row seats, a refrigerated console box, DVD entertainment, and adaptive cruise control.
