The 2010 Lexus IS C is a new convertible version of this Japanese automaker's premium compact car. Sedan versions of the 2010 IS see no major changes, continuing in four models with three engines. The IS C has a power-retractable hardtop and comes in two models with two engines. The IS 250 comes as a sedan and convertible with a 204-hp 2.5-liter V6 engine. Also offered in both body styles is the IS 350, which has a 306-hp 3.5-liter V6. The high-performance IS F comes as a sedan only with a 416-hp 5.0-liter V8 along with specific sport suspension, tires, and trim. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all IS models. The IS 250 sedan is available with all-wheel drive. IS 250 is offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Automatic transmission is standard on the IS 350 and IS F; a 6-speed on the 350 and an 8-speed on the IS F. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags (on sedans), front side airbags, and front knee airbags. Also available is Lexus' Pre-Collision Safety System, which is designed to automatically cinch seatbelts and apply brakes if an unavoidable crash is detected. Leather upholstery and a sunroof are standard on sedans. Evaluations of the 2010 Lexus IS C are based on preview test drives.
