Vehicle Highlights
The 2010 Hyundai Elantra lineup should see no major changes after adding a hatchback body style for model-year 2009. Elantra should continue to come as a 4-door sedan in GLS and SE trims, as well as the Touring hatchback. Tourings are 2 inches longer in wheelbase but 1 inch shorter overall than their sedan counterparts. All Elantras should continue to use a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that teams with a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic. Sedans should continue to have 138 hp while Tourings should have 141. Available safety features should include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. All Elantras will likely continue to have a height-adjustable driver seat and power windows. Air conditioning, cruise control, and CD player will likely remain optional for GLS and standard on SE. Leather upholstery and heated front seats should remain optional on SE. Elantra Tourings should continue to have specific suspension tuning. This report is based on evaluations of the 2009 Hyundai Elantra.
