Vehicle Highlights
The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt lineup will lose its high-performance models over the course of the model year. Otherwise, these compact coupes and sedans are largely unchanged. Cobalt reprises Base, LS, and LT trim levels. The high-performance SS sedan ceases production at the end of the 2009 model year. The SS coupe will be discontinued in early calendar 2010. LS and LT have a 155-hp 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine. Manual or automatic transmission are available. Versions equipped with the manual transmission are available with an XFE (Xtra Fuel Economy) Package, which includes low-rolling-resistance tires and other drivetrain tweaks designed to increase fuel economy. The SS has a 260-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a mandatory manual transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and curtain side airbags. A wireless cell-phone link and USB port for controlling digital music players is available. SS models have a sport suspension and specific trim.
