Vehicle Highlights
The 2009 Volvo XC70 gets a new addition to its model lineup--the T6. This SUV-flavored wagon is essentially a raised-suspension version of Volvo's V70 wagon, and like the V70, it shares its basic design with Volvo's S80 sedan. The base XC70 has a 235-hp 3.2-liter 6-cylinder engine, while T6 has a 281-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder. The sole transmission is a 6-speed automatic. All XC70s have all-wheel drive. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Volvo's Blind Spot Information System is available on the XC70, as is a hill-descent control system. The rear bench has optional integrated child booster seats that are also height adjustable. Also available are adaptive cruise control, a heartbeat sensor that warns if an intruder is hiding in the car, an uplevel audio system, satellite radio, dual-screen DVD entertainment, and a navigation system.
