Vehicle Highlights

The 2009 Volvo C30 lineup is shuffled following the C30's introduction for the 2008 model year. This 2-door hatchback is this Swedish automaker's smallest car, and it shares its basic design with the company's S40 sedan and V50 wagon. C30 is 8.5 inches shorter and about 300 pounds lighter than the S40. The C30 T5 replaces the Version 1.0 trim level, while the T5 R-Design replaces the Version 2.0. Both use a turbocharged 227-hp 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission or optional 5-speed automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags. Both models have four bucket-style seats. The T5 R-Design has a sport suspension and 18-inch wheels. Many options are only available as part of the "Volvo C30 Custom Build" program that requires an additional fee. A new Preferred Package for both the T5 and R-Design includes a power driver seat, fog lights, and upgraded audio system. A navigation system with real-time traffic information is newly optional.
