With its new 4-cylinder and more-powerful V6 engines, the freshened 2009 Grand Vitara offers shoppers some welcome flexibility when determining which model might best suit their needs. Any version is roomy and comfortable, and the all-wheel-drive system allows for impressive off-road capability. With most models having a sticker price of $25,000 or less, the value proposition remains a strong one. The top-line AWD Luxury V6 is a bit pricey and doesn't ride exceptionally well, however. So stick with one of the lesser Grand Vitara models for the best dollar/feature/performance ratio.
