The Pontiac Solstice GXP coupe is fairly affordable, surprisingly fun to drive on public roads, and even quite fuel efficient. The expected sports car compromises are present in droves, but even a Miata would be much more practical in the daily grind. Think of Solstice as a part-time fun machine and leave it parked when you need something more practical.

If you didn't know how much the Solstice GXP coupe costs, you'd find it a crude, albeit pretty fun summertime ride. Then you look at the sticker--$33,000. For that kind of money, you can get a Nissan 370Z coupe, which is more powerful and far more refined inside and out. With GM phasing out the Pontiac brand, you certainly won't pay anywhere near sticker for what is certain to be a collectible car in the near future. Even then, I'd still pass this up in favor of rival sporty coupes.
