Nissan's Rogue doesn't stand out as exceptional in any area, but offers a decent blend of space and utility, along with good fuel economy. Rogue isn't the class of the class, but is worth considering when shopping small SUVs.

Rogue is far too noisy and expensive (at least in AWD SL trim) for what it offers. In addition to these strikes, it has nothing that stands out in the class. The Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan are remarkably refined. A Toyota RAV4 with its excellent V6 can be had for roughly the same price as this 4-cylinder Rogue. Same goes for the Saturn Vue. These aforementioned compact SUVs all deserve consideration over this Nissan.
Jennifer Geiger
I wanted to like Rogue because it's a great size and has a cute shape, but there are so many competent compact SUVs on the market right now--ones that are quieter, more powerful, and have a more composed ride than Rogue.

Even with several options ladled on--including the pricey, technocentric Premium Package--the top-line Rogue SL AWD in this test topped out at $27,620 delivered. As it offers acceptable power, decent passenger room, and some cargo-area configurability, it is worth a serious look from shoppers in the segment.
