Described by some as competition for BMW's oddly impractical X6 "sports activity coupe", the Acura ZDX Concept mimics the German truck in both silhouette and apparent purpose.
Acura ZDX Concept
As the X6 is an upscale, more rakish alternative to BMW's more conventional X5 SUV, the ZDX will be price-positioned above Acura's MDX midsize SUV.

Mechanically, the production ZDX should differ little from the MDX, which means we'll see a 3.7-liter V6 tweaked to about 320 horsepower, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a version of Acura's SH-AWD (Super Handling) all-wheel-drive setup.
Acura isn't talking money at this point, but look for the ZDX to run about $5,000 more than comparably equipped MDX models, roughly $45,000-55,000.
The ZDX is scheduled to arrive later this year as a 2010 model.
CG Says...
Given how slowly the BMW X6 sells, it seems clear the "SUV coupe"
market is a small one. Acura doesn't make too many mistakes, though,
and it's possible the Japanese maker can do a better job than BMW in
balancing that magic triumvirate of style, practicality, and value.
