2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sneak Peek
The 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse gets slightly revised styling, mainly to the front and rear fascias. This sporty car comes as a 2-door hatchback coupe in GS and GT trims. Also offered is the convertible Spyder in GS and GT trims, and these models have a power top with a heated glass rear window. GS has a 162-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. GTs have a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 265 hp. A manual transmission is standard: a 5-speed for GS and a 6-speed for GT. An automatic transmission is optional: a 4-speed for GS and a 5-speed for GT. GTs have traction control and an antiskid system that are not offered on the GS. Standard safety features on all Eclipse models include ABS and front side airbags. Curtain side airbags are standard on coupes. An optional Sun and Sound package for GS and GT includes a 650-watt audio system, steering-wheel audio controls, and a sunroof. We have not yet tested a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Pricing Key: Retail prices listed with each report are set by the vehicle's manufacturer. These figures appear on each car's federally mandated window sticker. Most price lists also include dealer-invoice prices. Dealer-invoice prices are what the dealer pays the manufacturer for the car and its factory-installed options. The destination charge is not included in the suggested-retail or dealer-invoice price and must be added to the cost of the vehicle. Car companies change prices frequently throughout the year. If the prices published do not match those on the vehicle's window sticker, the manufacturer has probably altered the price recently.
NA = price note available, NC = no charge.
