The 2009 Ford Taurus adds a new model to its lineup. This large sedan shares its basic design with the Mercury Sable and the Ford Taurus X SUV. Taurus offers SE, SEL, and Limited models with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. SE is new for 2009. The only engine is a 263-hp 3.5-liter V6. A 6-speed automatic is the sole transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. A navigation system is optional. DVD entertainment is no longer offered. Also available is Ford's Sync, a voice-activated interface for cell phones and digital music players. Satellite radio is now standard on SEL and Limited models.
