General Motors' volume division showed off some of the cars that moviegoers will get to see in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The movie, slated for a June 2009 release, will showcase many GM products, including several Chevrolet models.

Based on the 2010 Camaro Concept, BUMBLEBEE marked the centerpiece of Chevrolet's movie display. Naturally, this Autobot and star of the first movie, will reprise its role as the main Transformer in the sequel.

CG Says...
This whole production is a double-edged Sword of Damocles for GM. While you want to make people aware of your products (and movie tie-ins are certainly a way to do that), is this really a wise use of marketing dollars, especially when your company is receiving money from the U.S. government? It's a tough call, but we ultimately don't think so. Product rules the day, not superfluous placement in something that might make a big initial splash but will eventually disappear from the public consciousness.
Joining it are a pair of newcomers, called the Twins. These bots were built around two of Chevrolet's minicar concepts: Beat and Trax. GM announced at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show that a version of the Beat would see production. That car will be called the Spark, and it makes its debut for model-year 2011.

The angular, Corvette-looking Transformer, the Stingray Concept, was unveiled in honor of GM's 100th anniversary. It might very well be a hint of what the next-generation of GM's flagship sports car might look like.
