The 2008 Volvo V70 is redesigned with freshened styling and more standard power. V70 shares is basic architecture with the longer wheelbase, more-expensive S80 sedan. Note that Volvo also sells an all-wheel-drive SUV-flavored version of the V70 called the XC70; that model is similarly redesigned for 2008. V70 is front-wheel drive and comes in a single 3.2 trim level. It has a 235-horsepower 3.2-liter 6-cylinder engine, which replaces 5-cylinder engines of 168 and 208 horsepower. The high-performance R model is discontinued, as is the available manual transmission. All V70s have a 6-speed automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Volvo's Blind Spot Information System is optional, as is adaptive cruise control. A navigation system and dual-screen DVD entertainment are also optional.
