The Porsche Cayman is ample proof that kooky levels of horsepower are not a prerequisite for an exquisite sports-car experience. Two-hundred ninety-five horsepower doesn't sound like a lot in the realm of $60-$70K sports cars, but the Cayman is also one of the few vehicles in its class to weigh in at less than 3000 pounds (the base Cayman checks in at 2954). And mere specs on paper can't convey the Cayman's impeccable build quality, wonderful balance, and genuinely exotic feel... or the spine-tingling serenade of its flat six at six grand.

Cool to look at and intoxicating to drive (don't drive while intoxicated, that's bad), Cayman is automotive sensory overload. Be very careful when selecting options, though, as prices will hit the stratosphere in short order. $5000 for heated seats, uplevel audio system, bi-xenon headlights, power seats, and a CD changer? Gimme a break. Porsche had better reign in its "we will charge whatever we can get away with" pricing or it will see its market share head in the opposite direction of its pricing policy.
