2008 Nissan Quest Review
The 2008 Nissan Quest is largely unchanged. Quest offers four models: 3.5, 3.5 S, 3.5 SL, and top-line 3.5 SE. All have a 235-hp 3.5-liter V6 and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Front bucket seats are standard. Optional on all are folding 2nd-row bucket seats and a 3rd-row bench seat that folds into the floorwell. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags. Power operation for one or both sliding side doors is available, depending on model. A power liftgate is standard on all but the base model. Other available features include a rearview camera, power-adjustable pedals, DVD entertainment, wireless cell phone link, and navigation system. Nissan's SkyView roof that features four fixed glass panels over the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats is standard on SE, optional on SL.

Competition
Consumer Guide Automotive places each vehicle into one of 18 classes based on size, price, and market position. Long the choice as a family hauler, Minivans are easily the smartest use of space for passengers and cargo. These vehicles offer a fantastic blend of comfort, convenience, and safety features for the modern family.

Our Best Buys are the Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Honda Odyssey. Our Recommended picks are the Hyundai Entourage, Kia Sedona, and Toyota Sienna.

New or significantly redesigned models include the Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan.

News
Sources say Quest's next redesign is due for 2010, but Nissan may have other plans. Indeed, the company is said to be working on a new vehicle that might replace the minivan. Aimed at aging "baby boomers," the seems to be an SUV/pickup like the Chevrolet Avalanche, but with the dimensions and carlike driving feel of a midsize crossover like Nissan's own Murano. At the moment, though, this is only a what-if idea with no introduction date. If there is a next Quest, we'd expect more conventional styling and perhaps a somewhat smaller, more fuel-efficient package.
