The Mustang is certainly not a cutting-edge vehicle in terms of suspension sophistication or overall refinement, and its fans probably like it that way. Any new V8 Mustang is loads of old-fashioned, rear-wheel-drive fun. The Bullitt package's $3310 tariff seems plenty pricy for the tangible upgrades it brings, but the car does capture the no-nonsense vibe of its classic-car-chase namesake. Plus, its limited production run will likely help it hold its value.

Don Sikora

The Bullitt Mustang is an excellent demonstration of less is more. The lack of spoilers and extraneous emblems, plus the classic dark green metallic paint and wheel design--not to mention the rumbling exhaust--add up to a very attractive modern interpretation of Lt. Frank Bullitt's legendary '68 Mustang. The car has a definite presence, and attracts a surprising amount of attention from people of all ages. If you understand what the car stands for, I'm sure you'll like it. If you're looking for a state-of-the-art performance coupe and a great interior you'll be happier looking elsewhere.

Ed Piotrowski

Mustang Bullitt is an OK driving experience, I suppose. For most folks, it's not going to be worth the extra cost over a standard Mustang GT. It's hard to pan the Bullitt for being rougher around the edges than other Mustangs because there's no doubt it was intentional as a method of paying homage to Steve McQueen's ride. Die hard fans will love the Bullitt. Everyone else would do better with one of the more pedestrian versions.

Jack Stewart

With or without the Bullitt Package Mustang GTs deliver good performance for the dollar.

John Biel

The Mustang Bullitt improved the looks of this tester¿s driveway, but with the $3310 Bullitt package (and a few other options that brought the tab with delivery to $34,705), it had moved out of the value-for-the-money fun-vehicle category. Unless you're a serious movie buff--or a speculator in collectible Mustangs--a regular GT is a better deal for the here and now.
