The 2008 Dodge Sprinter gets more safety and convenience features including an emergency exit window on all passenger models. Cargo vans get an optional rear bench seat. Three models are offered: 2500, 2500 cargo extended, and 3500. 2500 and 3500 are available in passenger van, standard roof, high roof, or mega roof form and come in two wheelbases: 144 and 170 inches. The high roof adds 11 inches of interior room and the mega roof adds 19 to the standard roof height of 65 inches. Dual rear wheels are standard on 3500 models. Passenger models have room for up to 12 passengers on rear bench seats. Two engines are offered: a turbodiesel 154-hp 3.0-liter V6 or a gasoline 254-hp 3.5-liter V6. Both mate to a 5-speed automatic transmission. All models have a tire pressure monitoring system. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, dual front airbags, and front side airbags. Optional equipment includes a heated windshield with rain-sensing wipers, power sunroof, and a rear back-up alarm.
