Chrysler Group's concepts are all green this year at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The group unveiled three differently-branded vehicles that, according to Chrysler, demonstrate its ideas about design and environmentally-responsible transportation.
Chrysler's ecoVoyager Concept is an aerodynamic pod-like, four-door, four-passenger car that Chrysler claims embodies "the new, elegant expression of the Chrysler brand."
EcoVoyager was designed for environmentally-conscious customers interested in "elegance and simplicity," those who live by the adage "less is more." The concept combines a 200 kilowatt electric motor and a fuel cell for a cruising range of 300 miles.
Its doors, including the rear-hinged rear doors, open 90 degrees without a b-pillar. The interior is trimmed in cherry wood and features two panoramic sunroofs.
EcoVoyager rides on a 116-inch wheelbase and is 191.2-inches long, 75.4-inches wide, and 63 inches high.
Chrysler admitted it has no plans to produce ecoVoyager, but did promise that the concept foreshadows what's to come in terms of Chrysler's design and propulsion technology plans.
