Once past the tank-slot visibility issue, the SS version of this versatile wagon gives it a sporting personality that's absent in lesser models. But it comes with a "premium" thirst, so the higher base price isn't the only time it will cost you.

Usually any combination of fun and practical makes for a nice ride, and the formula works well here, as well. The SS stuff is mostly all good, adding power and flash, with little penalty in ride or fuel economy. Personally, I think the HHR is too often overlooked. It's sharp looking, space efficient, and inexpensive. Looking for economical fun? Look at the HHR.
