Damon Bell

A BMW 335i sedan, one of the greatest sports sedans on the market, starts at $38,900. An M3 sedan starts at $53,800, almost $15,000 more than its less-serious sibling. True performance aficionados will find the extra tariff money well spent; the M3 is one of the finest performance vehicles available at any price.

Ed Piotrowski

Who could have imagined a V8 engine that can rev past 8000 rpm and deliver more than 100 horsepower per liter without the aid of forced induction? To take such "engine"-ering and wrap it in a sophisticated package is a marvel of modern automotive manufacturing. M3 is a tour-de-force with few peers (and virtually none with an MSRP less than $70,000) that so adeptly balances high performance and high refinement.

John Biel

The M3 is expensive for a smaller sedan ($60K delivered as our test vehicle was equipped--even with no iDrive [hooray!]), but there is no doubt from the first minute behind the wheel that it is a serious driver¿s car. The fact that it rides fabulously is just a cherry on the top of this tasty Bavarian confection. If your bank account and your pulse are equally stout, look into this car.

Tom Appel

Like a bullet with a steering wheel, M3 must rank as one of the most practical serious performance vehicles available in the U.S. Vette-like acceleration, room for four lucky folks, and crazy-good handling. The $60,000 tariff is stiff, but no one who knows what they're getting into would ever regret this purchase.
