The 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage lineup gets upgraded at midyear to a larger engine with more power. Aston Martin's entry-level cars come in two-seat coupe and convertible form. Replacing the formerly standard 4.3-liter V8 with 380 hp is a 4.7-liter version with 420 hp. Both body styles are available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automated manual transmission, which has no clutch pedal and can be set to shift like an automatic; it includes steering-wheel paddles for manual shifting. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and side airbags. Other available features include satellite radio, navigation system, and front and rear obstacle detection. Also added with the midyear update is a revised center console, a sport suspension option, and restyled standard and optional 19-inch wheels. We have not yet tested the 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
