2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Review
This SUV lends its design to the LX 470 from Toyota's luxury Lexus division. They share a 265-hp V8 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive with low-range gearing is standard. ABS, traction/antiskid control, and three-row, eight-passenger seating are standard. Optional is the same suspension system used in LX 470; it offers driver-adjustable ride height and shock absorber firmness. Also optional are front side airbags with curtain side airbags covering the first two seating rows. Other options include DVD entertainment, and a navigation system with rearview camera.
Competition
Consumer Guide® Automotive places each vehicle into one of 18 classes based on size, price, and market position. Typically based on mainstream Large SUVs, Premium Large SUVs are super-sized luxury liners. All are powerful, pricey, and extremely thirsty at the pump.

Our Best Buy is the Cadillac Escalade. Our Recommended picks are the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

New or significantly redesigned models include the Audi Q7, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.
News
After all sorts of rumors over several years, it seems Land Cruiser will be redesigned after all. Word is it will reach North America during 2008, likely as an '09 model. Still unclear is whether the LC will remain a unique design or become a sibling of the full-size Sequoia SUV, which is being redesigned for '08. We'll let you know more as soon as we hear, so keep checking back with us.
