2007 Porsche Boxster: Overview

A slight horsepower bump marks 2007 for Porsche's line of two-seat midengine convertibles. Boxter shares underskin architecture with Porsche's Cayman hatchback coupe. Like Cayman, Boxster has front and rear cargo compartments and horizontally opposed 6-cyl engines. Boxster has a power folding fabric top with heated glass rear window. Base and S trim are offered. For '07, base models gain 5 hp for 245. S versions gain 15 hp for 295. Manual or automatic transmission is offered. The automatic has manual-shift capability via floorshifter or steering wheel buttons. ABS, traction/antiskid control, and side airbag protection for head and torso are standard. Options include a navigation system and Porsche's Sport Chrono Package with a dashboard stopwatch and sensors that modify throttle, traction, and suspension systems to suit racetrack-type driving. Also optional is Porsche's Active Suspension Management with normal and sport settings.
