GM's redesigned large utilities are hands down the best on the road. This test model had no options, but you would be wise to spring for the curtain airbags and rear-obstacle detection. Fortunately, they are available as standalone options and add less than $1,000 to the bottom line. If you don't need 4-wheel drive, this represents an exceptional value.

This stripped SLE Sun Belt special (2WD) seems like a screaming good deal if you need the space and power of a Yukon. At $34,690 with destination, this fine big rig wants for nothing save the $350 curtain air bags. Even the mileage is (relatively) decent. What's not to like?

If this is the type of vehicle you need and can afford to feed in the current fuel-pricing climate, the 2007 Yukon is an excellent choice well worth consideration for its ride, power, and equipment.

I generally don't like large SUVs, but this one isn't bad. The ride is quite nice, highway float and wallow are well controlled, and fuel economy is decent considering the immense size. Well-equipped, this costs about the same as our Jeep Commander tester. There's no doubt I'd choose this vehicle over the Commander.
Mark Bilek
Yukon's one of the best large SUVs on the market. So much so that you'd be crazy to buy anything else. Truth be told, GM's large SUVs are a home run and obliterate the competition in just about every on-road and interior facet. Dumping the 20-inch wheels and the navigation system cut the price of this test model to a much more realistic $46,000. Though that's a lot of money, there's hardly a better deal on four wheels if you need the passenger space, towing ability, or cargo room. Kudos to GM for getting one 100% right.
Rick Cotta
They can get pricey with the multitude of attractive options available, but GM's big SUVs strike me as good vehicles and good values if you need this kind of room or towing capacity--and can afford the gas.
