Mustang GT looks cool and has excellent acceleration, steering, and braking. The interior needs a serious overhaul, though and the ride is poor with the optional 18-inch tires. It's also a bit pricey at $30,500, so hold the line on options or go with a GT Base model for best dollar value.

The Mustang isn't especially practical in terms of passenger or cargo space, and it's hardly a miser with gas (at least the V6 and GT take regular). But a starting price of $26455 for a GT Premium coupe brings a level of V8/rear-drive performance you'd have to pay more for elsewhere.
