In an effort to combat redesigned rivals from General Motors and Ford Motor Company, Nissan's full-size SUV gets freshened styling and interior appointments for 2008. All Armadas wear updated front and rear fascias along with new interior fabrics, and add the availability of Music Box hard drive, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, and XM NavTraffic navigation system. Meanwhile, the top-line LE version will offer 20-inch wheels and add luxury trappings to its stateroom, with new woodgrain accents, available heated steering wheel, and an optional power-folding third-row seat. Look for Armada in early May.

Nissan's Pathfinder is a truck-type midsize SUV that shares a platform with its shorter Nissan Xterra stablemate. What the 2008 Pathfinder won't share is its new engine: a 5.6-liter V8, the first V8 Nissan has offered in a midsize SUV. Claimed to produce in excess of 300 horsepower, it closes the power gap between the Pathfinder and V8-powered rivals such as the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner, and the sales-leading Ford Explorer. Continuing as standard in the Pathfinder is a 4.0-liter V6. Also new for the 2008 Pathfinder is revised exterior styling and new interior features, including the addition of a Music Box hard drive to the available navigation system. Look for Pathfinder in early May.

In the full-size pickup segment, "Big" is the name of the game and "Tough" is the byword. Nissan aims to add a little of both to its 2008 Titan. Since its 2004 introduction, Titan has been handicapped by the absence of an 8-foot cargo bed, the standard for those who use their truck as a workhorse. That will change in the spring of 2007 when the '08 Titan King Cab arrives sporting an optional 8-foot bed. Crew Cab versions will offer a newly optional 7-foot bed. Also new for '08 is a PRO-4X model, a 4x4 boasting a rugged, off-road demeanor. On its softer side, the Titan will offer an available heated leather front bench seat and a Bluetooth hands free phone system, along with slightly revised exterior styling. Look for Titan in early May.
