Rear seat space is disappointing, and I would definitely forgo the optional 18-inch wheels and their harsher ride. Otherwise, the STS V8 is smooth, reasonably quick, impressively quiet, and worth checking out.

With chiseled good looks, a brawny all-American V8, and a commendably responsive transmission, STS makes a strong case for consideration by mid-lux shoppers. Sadly, the rear seat is far too small for a car this size, and Caddy pricing is a little optimistic. Also, compared to the Infiniti M and Mercedes E-Class, STS's interior is a little under dressed. Still, there's rebates out there, and if buying American means something to you, this scrappy Caddy is a fine choice.
