Save for VW's troubling customer satisfaction scores and slightly steep sticker prices (especially the spendy options: $1000 for a sunroof?!), Rabbit is a first-class compact with a fine blend of attributes.

Rabbit is especially impressive for its smooth 6-speed automatic transmission and host of available safety features (including rear side airbags and antiskid control). Lose the pricey sunroof, and this car with antiskid and satellite radio tops out at almost exact $20,000. That's quite a value for a vehicle with Rabbit's high levels of utility and driving enjoyment. Now if we could only do something about the name...
