2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT spec.B
A Legacy trim level previously offered in limited capacity will be joining the lineup of Subaru's midsize sedan. The Legacy 2.5GT spec.B was unveiled at the 2006 New York Auto Show. It shared the stage with a limited production version of the Subaru Impreza STI Limited.
The spec.B model was offered for 2006, but only 500 units were available. Legacy spec.B features a 243-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. For 2007, the Legacy 2.5GT spec.B gets a modified version of the 6-speed manual transmission currently found on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
Also new for this model is Subaru's SI-Drive, which allows the driver to select from three levels of engine performance modes: Intelligent, Sport, and Sport Sharp. Subaru calls it three engines in one because it allows the driver to switch from Intelligent mode's lower torque output and relaxed throttle response curve for around-town driving, to Sport mode's quick throttle response and power delivery, to Sport Sharp mode's even quicker throttle response and faster power delivery.
This new system, operated by a center console-mounted dial, is standard on the Legacy 2.5GT spec.B, Legacy 2.5 GT Limited, and Outback 2.5 XT Limited for 2007. Also standard is Dusk Blue Alacantara trimmed leather upholstery for 2007, replacing the '06's Brick Red leather trim. Other new standard features include mp3 and Windows Media audio playback and an input jack for iPods. Unique exterior features include side ground-effects molding with chrome trim and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Limited
Also on the stand was a special edition Impreza WRX STI model. New-for-2007 features include a refined rear spoiler and bigger front spoiler, along with ten spoke 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, heated leather seats, power moonroof, and available satellite radio. Driving the wheels is Subaru's 293-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder boxer engine and symmetrical AWD with a driver-controlled center differential.
Only 800 units of Subaru's 2007 Impreza STI Limited will be produced in two special edition colors: Urban Gray Metallic and Satin White Pearl. Each carries a center-console mounted numbered plaque.
