2006 Jaguar XK Series: Overview

Jaguar's coupes and convertibles are little-changed as early 2006 arrivals. XK8 uses a 294-hp 4.2-liter V8, XKR a 390-hp supercharged version. A 6-speed automatic is the only transmission. Standard are front side airbags, antiskid/traction control, ABS, and 18-inch wheels. XKRs have a mesh grille, unique hood, rear spoiler, and sport suspension. A navigation system and self-leveling xenon headlamps are standard for XKRs, available for XK8's. Jaguar's Adaptive Cruise Control, designed to maintain a set following distance, is optional for all. New for '06 is a pair of Victory Limited Edition packages for coupes. The XK8's Victory package includes upgraded leather upholstery, carbon-fiber cabin accents, a wireless connection to cell phones, special exterior trim, and 19-inch chrome wheels. The XKR Victory package adds 20-inch wheels and uprated brakes.
