This military-styled midsize SUV comes as a 4-dr wagon and as the pickuplike SUT (Sport Utility Truck). Both borrow their 325-hp V8, 4-speed automatic transmission, and many chassis components from GM's 2000-2006 generation large SUVs. The wagon seats five and is available with a one-passenger 3rd-row seat to increase capacity to six. The SUT seats five and replaces the wagon's enclosed cargo bay with a 3-ft-long, 5-ft-wide open cargo bed. A midgate with power-down window separates the SUT's bed from the cabin; it folds with the rear seat to extend bed length to 6 ft. Designed for severe off-road use, H2s have AWD with low-range gearing and a locking rear differential. ABS, OnStar assistance, and heated leather seats are standard. No side airbags are available. An optional Adventure Group includes load-leveling suspension. New for '06 is the Pacific Blue Limited Edition package that includes a navigation system, DVD entertainment, special blue paint and interior trim, and brush guards and roof-mounted off-road lights.
