If you're in the market for a full-size SUV, the Expedition is a fine choice. Choose your trim levels carefully, though. . . this top-of-the-line King Ranch tester adds fancier leather upholstery and a handy power-folding rear seat as part of its $1600 premium over the Limited model. But it deletes the Limited's heated and cooled front seats--a feature I definitely missed during my wintery test time with the King Ranch.

While Expedition as a whole remains a compelling choice, King Ranch trim is a tough sell considering its price premium, ugly interior trim/color and lack of heated seats. The battle between the next-generation versions of this and Tahoe should be a good one.
Tom Appel
King Ranch decor more garish than grand, does little to enhance the value of Ford's otherwise solid big SUV. Avoid the frills and Expedition is a fine big-family hauler.
