Infiniti, Nissan's luxury division, introduced the "coupe concept" at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. According to Infiniti, the Coupe Concept carries styling that will translate into the next-generation G35 coupe, which was introduced in 2003. Styling was done at the nissan technical center in Atsugi, Japan and features a gently waved shoulder line and flowing roofline with wide rear fenders. Infiniti signature L-shape headlights and led taillights completes the lighting. Door handles are concealed and small cameras and flip-up video screens replace the traditional rearview mirrors. Inside, the cabin is dominated by a full-length center console that's home to the leather/aluminum shifter. The steering wheel is fitted with paddle shifters and control buttons. Overhead is an extra-large sunroof. Infiniti wouldn't comment on the concept coupe's drivetrain, but did say that an announcement regarding the G35 coupe and sedan would come at the the 2006 New York Auto Show.
